OSM Awards 2025

This year, we are again presenting the OpenStreetMap Awards! Seven nominees will receive an award in seven categories at the State of the Map 2025 conference. This is a community award: you decide who the nominees are, before you vote for them.

Call For Nominees: Suggest a person for any of the categories of the award. We only ask for three pieces of information: a name of one or two individuals, a project (what did they do to claim an award), and optionally an URL for any web page that describes the project. Teams, groups and companies, commercial or not, can compete only in the "Team" category. Eligible is everything that was announced between January 1st, 2024, and April 1st, 2025. The call for nominees ends on the 23rd of July.

Brazil Singh
Since February 2025, Brazil is helping our company to fix the routing issues we face during our delivery. As we used OSM for our routing, we often faced some routing issues, and our team doesn't have any idea how to fix that, but when we got Brazil, he easily solved the issues, not only that, but also he trained our mapping team, how to correctly map and also how to correctly fix all the issues. On behalf of our company, we would like to nominate him for this award. Regards, Md. Saidul Islam

Climate Regiliance Fellowship 2025 by Open Mapping Hub, was a great opportunity for the student like us do develop a project and work for humanitarian causes. In this fellowship, I met with Brazil, and I learned about maproulete, how we can eaily detect any issues in any priority areas in OSM. I was just a beginner in OSM, he not only teach me how to map, but also showed me how we can actually solve problems in the map. From then I really impressed by knowing Openstreetmap, and yeah Brazil really not only helped me but also helped our entire small group by giving his important time. And I am happy to nominate the true OSM advocate.

I met with Brazil in a Dhaka Thrive Project, where we were working with Open Mapping Hub in the slum area. And that time I had no idea what field mapping is, then I asked him to help me, and he happily helped me to understand what field mapping is, though my work is to collect data using Kobo, I had no idea about OSM, he actually helped me understand all the OSM ecosystem. And I also heared and reall all his OSM history and story as a student how he do volunteer works, I really think that he deserves this award.
